Dr. Bill Rohn, DVM
Dr. Rohn has been with Bayfield Animal Hospital since 2012. He earned his DVM from Michigan State University in 1993. Dr. Rohn practiced in North Carolina for 12 years before moving to Durango. He has a particular interest in surgery including both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. Outside of work, Dr. Rohn is a big Chicago Blackhawks hockey and Chicago Cubs baseball fan, (but we don't hold it against him!). He is an avid hockey player and lives in Bayfield on a small farm with his wife and 4 children.

Dr. Jami Van Hemel, DVM
Dr. Jami Van Hemel is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She lived and practiced in Western North Carolina prior to making Bayfield her home. Dr. Van Hemel originally got into the veterinary field while working in shelter medicine, where she developed a passion for rescue animals and surgery. Since working in private practice, she has also developed an interest in preventative care, clinical pathology, and dermatology. When not working, Dr. Van Hemel spends as much time as possible outdoors with her husband Bryce — camping with their dogs Juno, Jolene and Eddy, gardening, or fly fishing. She also enjoys cooking, playing games, doing crosswords, watching college basketball, and spending time with her three-legged cat Jose.

Dr. Lewis moved here from Virginia where she practiced specialized emergency medicine. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007. Her interest is in the internal medicine cases and preventive care. Dr. Ball has practiced both large and small animal medicine in Colorado for 40 years. He is a graduate of Colorado State University. He focus is on preventative care and diagnostics. Dr. Ball enjoys the interactions with his patients and clients during appointments. He grew up in the area and still enjoys fishing, camping and just being in the outdoors. He lives in Ignacio with his wife, dog and horses.

Dr. Brown is the owner of Bayfield Animal Hospital. He received his DVM from Colorado State University in 1970 and has been practicing ever since! Dr. Brown enjoyed general practice the most, and liked interacting with clients and focusing on preventative care. Outside of work, Dr. Brown is an avid fisherman and enjoys wood working.

Mia, RVT
Mia Is a long time animal lover and native to Colorado. She as been a technician for many years. When not giving excellent care to the animals. in the clinic, She is also a local master groomer. Herding and agility contests with her dogs is how Mia like to spend her free time. 
Karen, RVT
Karen grew up in Gallup NM where her love of animals first began while working her first job with the local vet. She spend time pursuing other careers but came back to vet med. She lives in Bayfield with her cats. When not at the clinic she enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is also an avid sports fan and cheers on all the Colorado teams.

Alex moved here from Cali a few years a go. when not at work she is spending time with her 3 children and mom on their hobby farm outside of town. |
Amber, RVT
Amber was born and raised on a local ranch where she still lives and works today. She got her degree from Colorado Mountain College in 2000. She has worked with large and small animals ever since. When not at work or on the ranch she enjoys being in the mountains on horseback with her dogs. She is also an huge Colorado Avalanche Hockey Fan. 
Jenny, CSR
Jenny came to Durango to attend FLC many years ago and never left. Her true love is music when not helping clients, you can find here playing with her band in all the local spots. She is also an avid outdoors woman. 
Sonja, CSR
Sonja has lived in the area for many years. She worked as a groomer locally before coming to us. She lives on a local ranch. She enjoys spending time with the grandkids and family. |
Jeff, RVT
Jeff is a Colorado native who joined the army out of high school. Here is where he trained as a vet tech. a career he has practiced in a few states since leaving the army. When not at work he enjoys riding his motorcycle, family time, hunting, fishing and online gaming. He lives with his wife on their hobby farm. 
Tricia, CSR
Tricia grew up on both sides of the country and moved to Colorado in the 90's. Well known to the surrounding community from her many jobs. She is a people person always happy to help and be involved with many activities and events. She lives in Bayfield with her husband and many pets. When not here she also helps with the business she has with her husband. 
Karidyn, VA
Karidyn was our kennel tech for the last couple of years. A recent graduate of BHS. She is earning a degree from SJC to be a vet tech. She loves the animals and hanging out with friends. |
